Yuck. Granted it's my own fault for ordering an Asian noodle dish at a sports bar, but it was pretty gross. Me and my boyfriend are the least-ever picky eaters, but we declined to finish our dish. Service was so-so. Prices were on the high side for what you get. Would not recommend this place. Surburban blah--But hey, sometimes you just want that, so an old chicago is right across the street and is much better.

Stopped for happy hour and did not have a good experience. I initially got a glass of wine while I was waiting for a friend. I drank my wine and finished my glass while reading a book. I was left with no waiter/waitress for 15 minutes with an empty glass sitting at the edge of the table. At first I was annoyed, then it just became a game to see how many times the bartenders would look over and the waiter would just continue to cover the restaurant. The place was maybe 5% full. We decided to stick it out and have dinner. Very disappointed with the food as well. I won't be going back any time soon. Life is too short.

Went with a friend for lunch the other day. We both ordered drinks and were carded. My friend forgot her ID and the server rudely stated she couldn't get a drink. When asking for my bloody mary, the server tried to upgrade mine to a more expensive alcohol. I stated that I was fine with the less expensive. Got my bill and I was charged for the more expensive alcohol anyways. I asked about it and she basically told me I agreed for the more expensive alcohol. I stated that I didn't. She said she'd fix it. The manager came out, and instead of apologizing for the mixup, he basically reiterated the prices for both and basically accused me of trying to get the more expensive drink at the lower rate. I have never in my life been accused of something like that by management. And when I finally got the bills back, the drink was on my friend's bill and not mine. Needless to say, they won't be getting my business and I will be telling others about my bad experience. Food was good, but not worth it if that's the service I get there. Bloody Mary was terrible. I have been to the Eagan one before and service and food were great there!

With all due respect to other reviews, I didn't expect this place to be Zagat's-worthy, so I wasn't disappointed. The Jake's wings are flippin' fabulous. Sweet and smoky, crispy and moist, deep-fried, then sauced, THEN grilled briefly to caramelize some of the sauce. That's essentially what I went for, hence I thought the place was great. The tiered patio is nice, maybe a little close to the street noise, but whaddyagonna do?? Go for the wings, and if you're sharing, get two plates. Save on napkins and lick your fingers. They're that good.

This place looks just like any other Applebees, Cilli's, Ruby Tuesday---so it has that all-american bar feel to it but a little classier and nicer looking. We stopped here on way to concert and were on a tight schedule so this place looked as good as any.....Atmosphere okay---the food was not good. Everything had cajun spices on it and I don't care for heat....so obvious not my cup of tea. My friend that was with me eats only about 10 items of food and orders pretty much the same damn meal everywhere we go--salad, potatoes, and shrimp. She didn't care for her meal either and she eats this everywhere... Would by-pass this and not really recommend it....

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat before the fireworks. We were able to get a table on the patio which was very nice. I ordered the margarita which I was told was all top shelf..well I'm not sure about that, but I wasn't impressed..tasted like a premix over sweet blend... We ordered the Jakes wings,,,a hamburger ..and the grilled bruschetta. All were just average...Our server was unenthusiastic probably because she was working on the 4th of July...but a smile would have been nice... At the end of the meal we were asked to get a Jakes reward card..I get the need to establish loyalty..but this should start with a lot better drinks and food...they have a great location and a nice restaurant....so sorry, only 3 stars for now.

I've been to Jake's several times, and I really want to like it. It has good potential; the atmosphere, beverages, menu and decor are all pretty nice. There is a split between the bar area and the restaurant area, which is pretty cool. The thing that has stood out as subpar almost every time I've been there is the service. I probably sound like a broken record as many of the reviews that I've read on here say the service is slow. The service speed has actually been reasonable during the busier times I've been in, but for some reason, the less business there is, the slower the service is. I have several examples: one time, the server brought us our check about 15 minutes after we had finished our drinks. She was taking out the trash and stacking wine glasses. I understand closing duties need to be completed, but customers should always come first, considering there were two servers working between three total groups. Another time, the server brought us our check, and did not come back for at least twenty minutes. We saw her over talking with her friends at the bar. She probably would have never come back, so we physically walked the card over to the bar so she could process the transaction. Maybe the attitude just comes with the area...maybe the servers think they can get good tips just because it's Eden Prairie. I hope I'm not overgeneralizing this for all of the servers there, but that has been my experience for nearly all of my visits. It would be nice to see the managers more; my interactions with them have been pleasant. One of the bartenders who works there on weeknights is pretty awesome, and their happy hour is decent. They have a good proprietary beer, and as mentioned the rest of their drinks are pretty good. Overall... I probably won't go back for the food. I've given the place enough chances. I'll maybe head back for drinks with the guys for late night or to watch a game. It has a lot of potential to be better.

The only reason why this gets a two star is that the service was pretty attentive. Our group had the spinach and artichoke dip, dip was alright but didn't care for the pita chips that came with it. Appetizer came out about a minute before our entrees. Which one do I want cold? Had the steak sandwich. Dressing was not that good and steak was chewy. Fries were cold by the time we finished app. Other entrees our party tried was the salmon which was good but the steamed veggies were greasy (how I don't know) and the mashed potatoes were paste. The other entree was a burger which was overcooked and dry. Tried the Plymouth location with similar results. Will not be going back to any Jake's location.

The fajitas are great! Get the chicken and the steak! Also got the shrimp and andouille sausage soup was really good as a starter. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. If you're a blue moon fan they have it on tap and they'll give you extra oranges!

Jake's is A-OK. Their service can be slow at times, but other times it's awesome. Hit or miss. It's a sports bar so they have TV's everywhere. Good plus for a bar. It is giant, the space is huge focused around a central bar. The bar is pretty decent with their beer selection and they usually have their own Jake's Ale on tap for a discounted price. Not a great beer, but solid for a drinking beer....and I think it's only $3. The food is generally pretty good. The Jake's wings are awesome, they come in their Jake's sauce which is a tangy slightly spicy Asian style sauce. I love it. Appetizers are standard but the ones that stick out are the steak tips and the fried mushrooms. The horseradish dipping sauce is tasty, not hot like you'd expect from horseradish. My go to item on the menu is their buffalo chicken salad with grilled chicken. It's delicious. All around a very decent experience. One of the downfalls at times is their parking. The lot is pretty big yet it fills up pretty fast. Go figure.

I saw a lot of mediocre reviews, and I would say this is one of my favorite places to go in the summertime. The outdoor patio is one of my favorite places to have a drink, and I've had fantastic service & hospitality every time I'm there. I will admit the prices are a bit high, which is why I lowered my rating to a 4 out of 5.

  • David P.

This is a nice joint. Decor is fantastic, just the right amount of TV's for me, and the food really is good. Servings are just right or maybe a bit big, but for the price(which is reasonable for most people) is right in line with the quality of the food. They have pretty good happy hour specials right now from 3-6pm on weekdays, that includes $3 beers and $1 off any drink, as well as $5 and $6 apps. If its nice out they have a large patio, but I've never been there when it was open.

Hadn't been to Jake's since its previous incarnation as Epic (or something like that) but we were in the mood for good appetizers so we decided to check it out on a Saturday afternoon. It was a great choice to fit that bill. Jake's is huge - there is a ton of seating. Doesn't add much to the ambiance, but at least you know a table is always waiting for you. We started with the beer battered onion rings and the pizza poppers. Both apps were huge and could have been enough for our table. The onion rings were perfect, but the pizza poppers were surprisingly addictive. Some of the best I've ever had - like a pepperoni pizza wrapped in a crescent roll, cut into pinwheel shapes and served with marinara sauce. We couldn't get enough of them. I ordered the garlic burger for lunch. I didn't have much room for it after shoveling in the appetizers, but it was good and the Jake's fries are definitely above average. The rest of the party tried the lobster tacos, a Greek salad and the turkey club (which was amazing). There's nothing super fancy about Jake's, but the food is worth the stop.

Tried Jake's the other night since we moved to Eden Prairie recently. Wow...what a disappointment. The appetizer of lettuce wraps tasted OK, but didn't the people in the kitchen or the server see the totally wilted, old piece of lettuce that was served? It was the top piece. If I pulled that out of my refrigerator at home, it would have gone right into the garbage. My entree was bland...how can chicken enchiladas have no flavor except for cheese? I couldn't even finish the glass of Malbec I ordered (it was soooo sweet)...it tasted like $2 chuck, but it was $7.50 or so a glass. To top it off, I think the appetizer didn't agree with me or my husband since we felt ill for the next 18 hours. Sorry, Jake's, but we won't be back.

Jakes has a great bar and we come here often for drinks and apps. I'd rate Jake's wing among my favorites but have otherwise found the food to be inconsistent and undifferentiated.

Went to Jake's with future in-laws and fiancee as we were all visiting from out of town and wanted a close bar to grab a few drinks. It was a Thursday night and we came in about 10:30. We say ourselves and were immediately told by a waitress that the kitchen closed at 11 and the restaurant; 12. Ok. Fine. Our server came around and took our drink orders and I found my Jack and Ginger a bit on the weak side. When I informed the waitress (who was also the bartender) of my thoughts on the drink, she promptly informed me that there was 1.25 oz of alcohol in the drink. Huh? We went back and forth for about 2 minutes before I gave up, ordered a Jack "neat" and then left. The experience left a poor taste in the entire group's mouth and she didn't get the best tip. Never tried the food, but the service wasn't on par.

Overall A-OK. Had a groupon, made it a worthwhile trip. Sat at the bar, 3 bartenders on duty, a bit in-attentive that amount of staff.

Every time I have eaten here, I have had great food. There is not a bad thing on the menu. I love that they have fresh made pizza's from their pizza hearth and real, smoked, slow cooked meats. Jake's is a little more than I typically like to spend on a meal but whenever I have gone, its been worth it.

Mayo on my Cesar Salad. Nasty. Had the pit platter. Good food, a bit over priced, but it was Eden Prairie... Wouldn't go there again unless I had to...

I was here with a bunch of co-workers in one of the separate dining rooms, so your experience might vary. THE FOOD It took a while to get to this point, but eventually we had some appetizers. Walleye Fingers were tasty (although I was very very hungry) but dumplings were at best alright with surprisingly bland taste. Buffalo wings were just right, but then it's hard to really mess those up. Basically, could be better for the price. For the main course I had Bourbon Shrimp, which despite what its name suggests, has Shrimp AND Andouille sausage drowning in mashed potatoes. The portion is absolutely ridiculous in size for a normal human. If it wasn't for the sauce, the shrimp itself would have absolutely no taste. SETTING Bar-restaurant. Large. Has a bar protruding into the dining area, but otherwise nothing unique about the place. SERVICE We spent several hours at the place and the only thing that was done on time was refilling the beers, which wasn't hard as we were slow drinkers. Due to the switchover in waitresses, we had a good hour before anyone cared to ask for appetizers and by "ask" I mean we asked for them. Then followed the looooong wait for the appetizers and then a long wait again for us to get food orders in and the waitress was extremely impatient with us when it seemed that not all of us have decided what to order, despite already having a number of people who she could take orders from. She just about left to give us "a few more minutes". SUMMARY Could be cheaper, service could be more attentive, food could be better for the price if cheaper is not working out.

As others have said before me, when you come here, think Applebee's, subtract the celebrity paraphernalia, add a fireplace and extra $$ to the menu, and that is Jake's City Grille. On that, note, I do love me some Applebee's...so I came here for happy hour specials to enjoy the nicer atmosphere and apps for a great deal. Ordered a spectacularly refreshing raspberry vodka drink of sorts that was featured on the Opulent vodka happy hour menu. GET THIS! Just the perfect thing for an after work refresher! We split a bunch of apps, including the spinach/artichoke dip, onion rings, and nachos. This is where the "meh" comes in...The pita chips that came with the dip were so salty that no amount of cheesy artichokes could overwhelm the salty taste. It was better to eat it right off the spoon to avoid a sodium overload. The nachos were pretty standard, not bad, not outrageously good. Same goes for the onion rings. Although I did not try a main course, if the appetizers are any indication, I would stick with the raspberry drink and eat average food at a cheaper price somewhere else!

unimpressed with the food or service here. Food was blah at best and the staff pretty much ignored me the whole time I was there. End result, there are too many better places to go close by to go back here ever again. Dont waste your time

Food is way overpriced for what you get. I had the Jake Burger and it was dry. The fries looked like they belonged on a kids meal and were soggy. DON"T LET THEM PULL THE OLD WANT SOME SEASONED SOUR CREAM AND RANCH. Apparently that is an upcharge which makes their already overpriced meals ridiculous. Steer clear of this Joke.

I should have gone to Redstone... I would have paid the same amount for great service and much better food. I was meeting my mom and fiancé here for dinner on Friday night. I was coming from Edina in traffic so it was going to take a bit. When I finally got there no one at the table had drinks yet... not even glasses of water. Don't servers bring a glass of ice water when they first show up? I was told when my mom got there, she waited about 5 minutes standing up front before being recognized. Apparently there was a "big" party coming in and the hostess needed the manager to handle it because she wasn't qualified. There was a girl standing at the stand the whole time and finally asked, "have you been helped?" After seated they ordered drinks and they finally came after I had gotten there. I ordered a beer. It came out cold and was happy... at that time. We decided to order and all started with house or Caesar salads. They were fine. Nothing gourmet but a good start. Two people had burgers (each a different one) and I had a buffalo chicken sandwich. The sandwich was nothing special. The buffalo sauce doesn't have much heat but tastes like buffalo sauce. I do like that the chicken was grilled and not deep fried. I had coleslaw with it and it tasted like it was store bought coleslaw dressing with added vinegar. The burgers were burnt and soooo salty. They weren't overly dry.... just super burnt and that's all you could taste. My mom's burger even had blue cheese but couldn't taste it because of how burnt the meat was. The fries my mom had were also not good. Very soggy, no crunch and not overly hot. When the manager stopped by and asked how dinner was my mom told him exactly what we thought. I'm sure he was used to people always just saying "good" or "fine" and certainly wasn't planning on stopping and had to back up a bit. I don't recall him saying he was sorry for the food but used the paraphrased excuse, "our cooks do you use some bullshit season (as if it's something special) and I'll make sure they are using the right amount." The waitress never asked how it was. Never said anything about our food. All the servers kept looking over at us after we complained. Thank god we already at the horrid food so they couldn't spit in it. This place used to be enjoyable but has gone down hill fast. This could be a great restaurant but are clearly slipping. There are so many better places for a similar price and much greater value. I wouldn't even have a problem spending much more money. If I had the choice between the burger at Jake's or one at Quik Trip.... I'd take two at Quik Trip. Go to Redstone!

One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. It took about half an hour for the waitress to take our orders, then over an hour for our food to arrive. We were a large party, but I have never experienced this long a wait at other restaurants with the same group. During the wait, noone came to let us know the reason for the hold up. When our food did arrive, it arrived 2-3 dishes at a time and probably took another 15 minutes for the entire table to be served. My husband's pizza had crust that was still doughy and he ended up having to send it back because it was not edible. Despite this, a manager never came over to apologize, as is standard at other restaurants. We did get my husband's meal comped. It was an awful experience and we will not be going to Jake's again.

We have been here two times in the last six months. Our first experience was mediocre at best. We decided to give it another shot during happy hour on a Saturday night. When the waiter came to greet us, I said 'It's Happy Hour right?' He said yes and gave us the happy hour menu. He proceeded to let me order five appetizers from the happy hour menu, and my husband and I each ordered a drink. The spinach dip was barely edible, and the fried mushrooms were soggy. Our service was below average, as our waiter was scarce. Later when the bill came they had charged us full price for everything. When I pointed it out they said 'Saturday night happy hour doesn't include the apps'. When I asked the manager she was quite rude and acted like I should have known. When I asked why the waiter didn't explain that AS I was ordering apps off the happy hour menu, she just rolled her eyes. They corrected the price of my husband's martini but made us pay full price for the apps. The experience was disappointing all around, and we won't be returning!!

Herb roasted chicken is great and the prices are a little higher compared to other places but the ambience is great. Summer times on the patio surrounded by green trees is a perfect scene to relax.

Random restaurant Monday! This week we decided to try Jakes in Eden Prairie. We arrived around 6:30PM and there was a short 15 minute wait. The waiting area was next to the bathroom doors and there was a unpleasant smell coming out of those doors. We moved. While being seated; there was two guys arguing in the dining area. Apparently something that happened in the parking lot. The manager stepped in and defused the situation quickly. The service was a bit slow. We waited long time to get our order in. I ordered a the bacon blue burger and my wife ordered the Jake's wings. The burger was awesome, but the wings was okay. It was a busy night for them and we had to flag down the our waitress for beer refills a few times. Price: High. 13 dollars for a burger. Service: Bit slow. Food: Great burgers and good wings. Not sure about other things on the menu. Would I go there again? I think yes. The burger was really good.

Normally we stick around the area that we live but a few weekends ago we decided to venture outside of our normal stomping grounds and headed to Eden Prairie. Our servers name was Shelly and she couldn't of been more personable or sweeter. Shelley was super attentive, offered great advice and was just all-around friendly. She went above and beyond to make our first visit there great. Three out of four of us had the walleye sandwich and it was good. We will definitely be back again and hope to get Shelly at our table. PS The 5 stars is driven by Shelly and her great assistance at our table but if I rated the food it would be 4-4.5 stars, it was good but wasn't spectacular.

I expected an average, mediocre, decent meal based off the reviews. Stumbled in on an empty stomach & was so happy I did. The fiesta or southwestern salad was refreshing. The sweet potato fries with sour cream sauce were so good I would request them at my last meal. I'm a bit of a foodie so that's saying a lot. Great service. I have nothing but positive things to say about our lunch. It didn't quite reach 5 star quality, but the dishes they had for the style of restaurant rocked my tastebuds.

After three visits over the past 1.5 years, I cannot recommend you visit Jake's. I just finished the $15 ahi tuna salad: it was extremely disappointing. Some of the lettuce in the salad was discolored, so it was clear I was not eating fresh greens. The tuna itself was fine, but the overall salad did not have a distinguishing flavor. On the positive side, Jake's buffalo wings are above average: plenty of meat on the bone and good kick to the sauce. Additionally, our server was friendly, attentive, and very prompt. However, the restaurant was basically dead when we visited, so good service is a must at that time. Our table was sticky, which is a frustrating experience at this price point ($12 burgers and $15 salads). Little things like sticky tables can ruin a restaurant experience, in my opinion. At this price point, Jake's is competing (in Eden Prairie) with Wildfire and Redstone, each of which are far superior in atmosphere, aesthetics, and food quality.

A group of friends looking for some great Sunday morning brunch stumbled upon this place and boy was it a home run! Sunday's they serve brunch from 10-2 with a decent variety. Seared ahi tuna slices, French toast, eggs Benedict, caramel rolls, and much more! Food was great, service was just fine. I did notice our waitress had a terrible attitude with another table- rolling her eyes and such- she was overall pleasant to us however we were pretty easy to accommodate. Definitely a place we'd go back to on a Sunday.

Service with a smile is the name of the game, but find out what the Managers are really thinking! I am from out of state and my friends and I decided to eat at Jake's City Grille. A friend carried in his water bottle not realizing it was still in his hand. A Manager named Amy or Katie (?) came over and spoke with my friend who had no issue giving up his water bottle...until she said the "F" word twice. Yes, she swore and was quite unpleasant. She then walked away and we all were stunned and wanted to leave, but had ordered drinks already. I have dietary restrictions and I didn't order any food because I didn't want to be a hassle. Nice place, but the Manager ruined our dining experience.

Jake's is a typical suburban bar and grill/sports bar. The food is OK and the ambiance is what you'd expect. Will I be back here? Yes. How do I feel about that? Indifferent. Also, I think it becomes a nightclub on the weekends.

Kids liked it, so might give just one more chance - any port in a storm. But experience was average at best. Prime steak bites were fatty and over-seasoned. Buffalo chicken was all breading and spice. Service just ok.

I have given Jakes more than 5 chances and this last time was the worst experience I've had, I just have to give up. We went on a Sunday, after the football game was over, but the televisions were still so loud we had to yell. Even after requesting them be turned down, nothing changed. Our server was self-admittedly new, so her misrepresentation of the specials was slightly forgivable. One of my guests is a veg-head, so when she asked what the meatless soup options were, the only one was beer cheese. She ordered it, and was upset to find it had ham in it. For an entree she got the spinach artichoke dip, and it tasted like a brick of salt with spinach mixed in. We sent it back and were told the manager was on his way over to make it right....he never came. The salmon salad is usually prepared with a crusty outside and it was steamed this time, disappointing. We left unhappy to say the least.

Came for a work HH. It's giant...a little too big for my liking. There were three giant parties that literally took over indoors, luckily it was nice out and there were open tables on the patio. I ordered two of the "Opulence" vodka specials. Both were far too strong on the accent flavors and far too weak with vodka. Ordered a John Daly which was also weak. Ehh. The group ordered a bunch of apps which were all good. Not great. But good. The quesadilla was about the best thing we had. I had heard ravings of the lettuce wrap, tried that and thought it was pretty blah. Service was mediocre. Drinks were subpar. Food was decent. Atmosphere was average. Prices were average. All in all a decent sports bar, wouldn't make any special effort to hit it up though.

My wife and I had a $40 Groupon for Jake's. We have driven by this place a thousand times on the way to Old Chicago. We entered, and it was an expansive sports bar with a dining room off to the side. I ordered a Summit Maibock to start it off and my wife got a Diet Coke. Our server Jake, who was FANTASTIC, gave me a sample of the house Jake brew. It was a really hoppy amber, which was very good. I ordered it for my second beer. My wife got a side Caesar salad an a corn bread muffin and I ordered the lobster and shrimp tacos, which actually came out like 2 burritos. The plate was beautiful, lots of great black beans with a sprinkling of melted cheese on top and a red rice concoction on the side. I got the sour cream and guacamole on the side. Sooooo good. The burritos were pretty bland, but they were good overall. I didn't really taste the fishiness of it, but then again, lobster and shrimp aren't crazy fishy. The guac helped to spice it up a little. I should have got a little Tabasco to heat it up a little. My wife loved her salad and liked the cornbread as well. She gave me a crouton with the ranch dressing she got, and it was A OK. I had a final Summit EPA to finish off the meal, it was great seeing all the huge screens along the bar walls. They had about 10 beers on tap. Good stuff too. I had to take home the second burrito, just because I knew it was at least a 800 calorie meal without the second burrito. A nice dinner for the night. The green salsa that came with it was good, but I should have asked if they had a spicy one instead. Overall, good stuff, and Jake, our server, was fantastic, he refilled my wife's Diet Coke at least 5 times. I wouldn't go here without a Groupon, but I really liked the atmosphere and overall feel of this place. Next time will be a pizza though, because they had a great pizza oven cooking that you could watch them do as well. After our meal, my wife and I drove across the street for a nice 2.5 mile walk around Purgatory Park. A fantastic day overall.

The first couple of times we went there, I'd have given it 2.5 stars or so. Most of the food wasn't very good, but if I chose carefully, I could find something that was okay. Service was okay. The food was too expensive for the quality, but, hey, there isn't much available in the area when you like to eat late. If you showed up late (happy hour), the menu dwindled down to very few options, but at least it got cheaper. We noticed they offered a Sunday brunch, so we went to try that out. Seemed okay. Decent variety of stuff. Nothing great, but it is a buffet brunch, nobody expects it to be great. This isn't Vegas. But then we were looking at one of the mini bagels trying to determine if it was perhaps some kind of berry bagel, or... No, that's just mold. So, we called the waitress over to let her know the bagels were moldy, so they could remove the bagels from the buffet and make sure to set out fresh ones. She called the manager over, and their attitude was really like we were causing trouble. They didn't even take the platter of bagels off the buffet table. Seriously the ones on our plate were full on moldy, not like something we were really picky about and imagining. The mold, and more than that, their lack of interest in attending to it really turned us off, and we avoided the restaurant for a while. Eventually we decided, that it was probably a brunch problem, because they only serve the mini bagels on Sundays, so they aren't using them fast enough. Plus, not much available when you want to grab a bite out late, and happen to be stuck in Eden Prairie. So, we started going back, but not for brunch. A half dozen visits in to our return, and I got the fajitas and the shredded cheese that came with them was also moldy. Are you kidding? They use the cheese on a lot of things. They should be going through it quickly and using it while it is plenty fresh, Besides, I had obviously been lenient about the whole bagel thing, because the people in the kitchen should be keeping an eye on food quality before sending it out. After being served moldy food there on two different occasions, I'm done. They don't get a chance at a third strike. Seriously. The bar was low. I just wanted a place that served passable food late, but they were unable to measure up.

Food was very poor quality for the price. I got a chicken sandwich and the chicken had a strange taste to it. French Fries were ice cold when my meal came. Slow Service.

This is a nice little grill (not a fancy steakhouse) in a business/mall area surrounded by not much else to do or eat. The service is great and the bartenders are quick to pour and offer advice on what else to do in the area. They have very good prime rib that has a unique taste if you are there for dinner. Lunch they serve a decent french dip or fish tacos. Regardless of the time, plenty of liquor. Not much for good wine though.

I must have been thinking I'm the sh*t when I had that hot, spicy wings from Jake's during happy hour.. because man... I can still remember heading home in need of water! Jake's Nuclear Wings is firing hot. You can tell because the wings are submerged in this orangey red sauce WITH the hot pepper seeds! NO JOKE. Don't try it unless you're some kind of a dragon! LOL. Get it?? Get it??? OK, never mind.

Table for Two. Front Desk: It'll be 10 minutes. Walk to waiting area. It's in front of the bathrooms about 4 feet away, staring straight into the bathrooms. Gross. And there is plenty of room to sit and wait by the entry way, but no seating -- they want you to wait by the bathrooms. How appetizing. So there are a few chairs looking into the bathrooms, and then there is a L-shaped couch along side the wall of the bathroom. There were two late teens sitting there, hanging out...while the rest of us just stared into the bathroom. Wondered where they learned their manners? Finally sat down, and they have four wine flight options for under $9. Thought that was a good deal to sample some wines. I chose the Low and Under flight (or something like that) and all the wines are from Australia and New Zealand. I only liked the first out of the three wines...but, I really liked it. While we waited for our meals...the people sitting next to us had a conversation much like this (replace all "P"s in Puck to "F"), and were super loud. So I was pucking there, and then puck it was pucking nuts. And...puck pucking puck puck there that what puck so puck the puck what puck and pucking puck and puck. It was very pleasant. So, I wondered after this group and the group in the waiting area who goes to Jake's. We hardly could enjoy our food as their conversation was so distractingly loud. I started my dinner with the special soup. It was a chicken and corn chowder. It was super bland, in fact, tasted like cream of chicken soup by Campbell's. Friend started with the Sausage and Shrimp Chowder. He loved it. For main course, I ordered the lobster and shrimp tacos, and friend ordered Chicken Cilantro Salad. We were both pleased with our dinners. Desserts weren't anything interesting...so didn't order.

The food is boring, average and not cheap. The menu has NOTHING interesting that you wont find anywhere else plus better. Their wine list is cheap/boring/bad and extremely over-priced. Umm, a glass of Blackstone wine for $8 and $29 a bottle? At Haskell's last sale it was $6.99 a bottle. Back to the food, how many restaurants in MN have the exact same 'American' list of burgers, salmon, a few sandwhiches, walleye, a couple steaks, etc? For the money I pick Santorini or Crave or Kona or spend a little more for Wildfire. Jakes is never worth it, and after another ho-hum experience this weekend where after a 30 minute wait where the waitress came to ask an order clarification I told my husand we would almost never be bothered to eat there again. It wont kill you to eat there but you wont come out feeling like you had a great time either, unless you drink enough.

So this place has a lot of potential to do better but they do fine and really, it seems that they are happy with fine. Servers really need some basic training. I should not order a first course salad, dinner entree and drink and have the dinner come after I've had 1 bite of salad and no drink still and have to ask another server if she can figure out where my drink is since I have my 1st and second course already. Timing is just no where to be found. The food and drinks are otherwise fine, not spectacular. I had a coupon and it was billed as "fine dining" which is a BIG stretch. Unless they really do some service training, they have a long way to go to fine dining but overall, not a terrible dinner either.

Think upscale sports bar serving bar food at upscale prices. The dining room and patio are nice, but it's still bar food. Their menu is pretty similar to TGI Fridays or Apple Bee's - just add a dollar or two to the entrees. That said, their food probably IS worth a dollar or two more than what you get at those places, and their portions are quite large. Clam chowder is pretty mediocre, chicken in the caesar salad was tough and dry, the breadsticks are rubbery and stale. But my daughter loves their mac n' cheese, the spinach florentine pizza was decent, and the banana cream pie was pretty good. The cowboy ribeye steak is pricey but tasty and massive (16 oz). Choose carefully and you can have a pretty good meal here.

Apparently this is the place to be if you're in EP for HH. I have never seen so many cars stream into a single establishment like they did Jake's at 5:15 pm. Standard selection of drink specials. Neato. Had the house salad with cilantro lime dressing and the dressing was actually fantastic. Also shared a cheese personal pan pizza with my friend. The waitress was concerned that we would be upset that even though we ordered it without meat, because it was already on HH, she wouldn't be able to lower the price and we would still be technically paying for the meat. I'm guessing that sadly, she's had to deal with that qualm a lot. They have a HUGE selection of apps on special for $5-ish, so if you don't know what you want, you are guaranteed a choice.

Stick with what you know and you should be good. My husband the burger lover has switched his loyalty from Fudds to Jake's. I like the outdoor dining and the fact that the kids won't go hungry. Lots of food! There is little to nothing on the menu for those who want to stay healthy, but isn't that the way with most restaurants. If you're in the mood for a nice outdoor patio, good burgers and lots of people...Jake's is your place.

Nice inside - high ceiling and fireplace. In a location that restaurants usually don't do well in, so I'm impressed they've been around this long. Food was better than average and in my opinion, somewhat unique and creative. A nice change to all the chain restaurants in Eden Prairie

Go figure.

The first couple of times we went there, I'd have given it 2.5 stars or so. Most of the food wasn't very good, but if I chose carefully, I could find something that was okay. Service was okay.

The service seemed great, the food was good. There are better places, in my opinion, in the area for the same spend. Food is priced fair for the quality, the location is alright, but for the price in the area, there is better.

A friend and I went there for happy hour a while ago. We were pretty hungry and wanted to order right away. It took FOREVER for our waitress to come back. I kept trying to flag her down but she didn't see me, or ignored me. My friend and I were so frustrated we ALMOST walked out and went to the Applebee's down the street. It also took a long time for us to get the check. Won't be back anytime soon. There are better and cheaper places to go for happy hour.

I have to say, I was please with my dinner tonight. My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to try out the Cheesecake Factory, but there was about a 40 minute wait for a table, and since it was raining, and we were a bit crabby, we really didn't want to stand there and wait with all the other people. So we decided to venture down to Eden Prairie. We hardly ever go there so we though, "Why Not?" We had no idea where to begin even looking for a place to eat, but we saw Jake's and decided to go with it! It was some pretty decent food. I got the brisket sandwich, and he went with the prime rib Philly steak sandwich.. Both were some pretty hefty size plates of food. I couldn't even get through half my sand which. The barbecue sauce was not that good, but the overall sand which was alright. I would probably eat it again sometime. He really enjoyed his Philly steak sandwich, so we were both please. The appetizer we got was the Firecracker Shrimp. (I'm not sure if that is the official name, but it was some "spicier" grilled shrimp.) It wasn't my favorite, in fact it wasn't really good at all. For $12, we got let down. The weird thing was, that it was served with Blue cheese dressing... That combo.. Shrimp and Blue Cheese doesn't even sound enticing one bit....and it wasn't. The atmosphere was, like a Granite City restaurant, cheap food, with a overpriced aura to it. The restaurant was full of women dining with their lady friends,.. bitchy ladies that is! I didn't anything to drink, well Iced tea, but they did have a big drink menu. Tons of Martinis! I'd go back, I wasn't dissatisfied at all. The price was OK. I mean for the amount of food you do get, I thought it was reasonable. The quality of food, though I am sure it was very low, like Applebees or such, wasn't bad. In fact, pretty good.

I visited Jake's for the first time last week and was happy with the visit. It may have helped that I wasn't paying but the food was good. My water glass was never empty and the waitress was very friendly. We sat outside on a beautiful day (the outdoor patio is wonderful). As I alluded to earlier, the prices were a little high for my liking but the service and food made it more bearable.

Your typical chain-style bar and grille with a massive menu focusing on cocktails, beers, appetizers and desserts. Imagine something like a TGIF but with a slightly more hip ambiance, and fun patio umbrella'd outdoor seating... and you pretty much have Jake's pegged spot on. Come here for food and lots of it. Don't expect anything too complicated or gourmet, or a dessert that isn't layered with 3-5 things oozing off the plate. This is a place to clog your arteries and kill your liver at the same time. Definitely a fun place to knock back a few...huge specialty drink menu, their sangria is rockin' and if you come in the summer their outdoor patio is hoppin' for happy hour.

First off, I'm kind of a Sunday brunch fanatic and have been all over the Twin Cities touring different restaurants with Sunday brunch specials. From Tavern on France in Edina to Cianti Grill in Roseville, I been there and have eaten that. What sets Jake's apart from the others? Not only do they have your typical brunch options like scrambled eggs and french toast, but they have a great selection of fresh fruit and seared ahi tuna. For $9.95 a person, ahi tuna?! Really?! Yes! It take brunch to the next level. The atmosphere is classy yet the perfect place to catch a bball game!

Nice inside - high ceiling and fireplace. In a location that restaurants usually don't do well in, so I'm impressed they've been around this long. Food was better than average and in my opinion, somewhat unique and creative. A nice change to all the chain restaurants in Eden Prairie
